I usually come to this location because the food is always good. I always order the combination fried rice with chicken and shrimp, only and I normally receive generous portions. Unfortunately, my order yesterday 7/13/2026 was very disappointing. For almost $20, I only received about four pieces of chicken and five shrimp, leaving me with a container full of rice and almost no meat. The fried rice was also very bland and didn’t have its usual flavor. I’m assuming there was a different cook because I’ve been here several times, and this is the first bad experience I’ve had. I was especially disappointed because I hadn’t eaten all day and was really looking forward to my meal. I hope this was just a one-time issue because this has always been one of my favorite places. It’s very disappointing when you are extremely hungry and the food is not the best.

Best Chinese food in Dallas. Chicken fried rice and crab Rangoon hits haaaard. Also, if you do Uber Eats they normally have a buy 1 get 1 deal on the chicken fried rice. Not joking. The quality and consistency is always on point.

Got beef broccoli instead of chicken broccoli. Sauce was way too sweet with no spicy option available. Rice box wasn’t sealed properly (some spillage), and no utensils included. Still, it arrived hot during severe weather—huge props to the driver for that. Mistakes happen, especially in bad conditions. Grateful it showed up at all. Might reorder on a calm night, but I’d double-check the order and add utensil/spicy sauce requests next time. Thanks again to the driver! 🙏

This place is amazing! The food reminds me of New York City take out. Hot, fresh and delicious. Jenny at the front is super kind and helpful. She even gave us some dumplings to try. Also the place is clean. Definitely try this place for dine in.

The food here is 5 star. I have eaten at various Chinese bistros throughout the US. Cafe Hunan is by far the best. The sweet, spice, crunch, savor, and tenderness of the meat is all there! The food is always hot, never cold. I love it. The environment isn’t loud so I’m about to eat and work from here. I find myself in awe and expressing excitement after every bite. A little pricey but it’s worth it. This is my second time coming to Cafe Hunan. The community is safe and is in a bustling area. I haven’t had any issues finding parking and the building, and its features are always clean. The older woman floating between the kitchen and cash register is such a darling, I wish she was officially apart of my family. She makes guests feel welcomed and prioritized.
